Second Harvest Food Bank relied on more than 29,000 volunteers last year whose hours totalled 94,672. It's pretty incredible to see so many caring individuals pass through our warehouse throughout the year. Our various volunteer opportunities offer fun and unique ways for individuals and groups to contribute their time, talents and resources to help our neighbors in need.
Please review the following info below before signing up for a volunteer shift at our main facility.
Please note that our online calendar will only show volunteer opportunities in Orange County. If you are interested in volunteering at our Volusia Branch please call 1-386-257-4499. To volunteer at our Brevard Branch, please call at 321-733-1600.
Second Harvest Food Bank’s Ambassador Program aims to engage energetic and committed community volunteers in the mission and work of the Food Bank by serving as Hunger Champions in our community. Sign up to be a Second Harvest Brand Ambassador.
We are searching for Volunteer Captains to help our staff in the warehouse who run our volunteer projects. If you are interested and want to learn more, click here or contact Mindy Ortiz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each individual volunteer must register on their own. This allows us to keep accurate track of hours per volunteer.
Court Ordered Community Service
While we do accept volunteers that need to fulfill court ordered community service hours, please note that your offense must NOT involve a violent crime, theft, drug or sexual offense charge. You also must be willing to provide all of the information regarding the court order and/or Probation/Diversion officer information for follow up by our organization on your first volunteer shift. We specifically need your documents to list your offense. Your first volunteer shift CANNOT be on a Saturday. Please let us know upon arrival that you are court ordered so we can enter your information into our system for tracking.
