Director of Advocacy and Government Relations:
This full-time position implements a wide range of strategic, analytic and campaign skills to develop and execute advocacy initiatives that engage Partner Agencies and the public to take action to advance Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s (SHFB) public policy and legislative objectives.  Analyze, track and summarize local, state and federal legislation.  Develops and implements strategies to cultivate advocacy capacity throughout our Partner Agency network and online to increase our impact.  In conjunction with the President and CEO, serves as a spokesperson on advocacy, hunger and SHFB before a range of audiences.  Strengthens position of SHFB as the leading organization on hunger in Central Florida.

Benefits Connection Specialist (Brevard location):
This full-time position is located in Brevard County and provides face-to-face assistance with an electronic, on-line SNAP benefits application to low-income applicants at a variety of convenient locations. Provides guidance in understanding benefits and acts as a liaison for future client follow up and communication. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policy issues related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps) and general awareness of other benefits and human services for referral purposes, if needed.
