Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is looking for an intern for our School Markets program. The ideal person for this position has a passion for fighting childhood and teen hunger locally, is motivated, ready to learn, and at-ease working collaboratively with Second Harvest, the school system and beyond!
Overview
The School Market Program Intern will work closely with the School Market Program Manager, participating schools and community organizations to support new and existing School Markets. They will primarily serve as a liaison between those entities to ensure successful program operations, and to assist with onboarding new and promising locations. Communication with school and community partners will take place face-to-face, by phone and via email. We look forward to tailoring some responsibilities to the Intern’s natural strengths and interests.
Required and Preferred Skills
• Interest and/or knowledge about healthy eating and nutrition
• Interest and/or knowledge in logistics
• Customer service skills and/or experience
• bility to stay organized and multi-task
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Must be flexible and able to respond to different tasks when needed
• Ability to work within a team
• Must be proactive
• Graphic Design skills a plus
