Culinary Training Program Application

How to Apply

To apply for our Culinary Training Program, students must meet the eligibility requirements below and complete the application. Applications may be mailed, faxed or may be delivered in person to the appropriate locations noted on the application. We strongly recommend downloading and reviewing the student handbook before applying.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please fill out each section in full with the appropriate documents before submitting. All applications will be reviewed and applicants notified by mail at least 15 days prior to the enrollment date for which they have applied.

Applications are being accepted for the following sessions:

Session date:

  • Group 28: February 12, 2018 May 18, 2018 | Deadline: February 5, 2018
  • Group 29: April 23, 2018 July 27, 2018 | Deadline: April 16, 2018
  • Group 30: July 2, 2018 October 5, 2018 | Deadline: June 25, 2018
  • Group 31: September 10, 2018 December 14, 2018 | Deadline: September 3, 2018

Eligibility – all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • Authorized to work in the United States;
  • Have experienced financial instability (unemployment, low wage, government assistance, etc.) during the last 12 months;
  • Must not possess a criminal history involving arson, sexual battery or violent crimes. All other criminal activity records must be at least three years prior to application date and will then be considered on a case-by-case basis;
  • Must agree to disclose and provide criminal history records;
  • Must agree to a background check and drug test;
  • Must be drug and alcohol-free for at least one year prior to application date and enrolled in a rehabilitation support program;
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, or the ability to meet minimum aptitude requirements based on curriculum needs;
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for and willingness to commit to the Program and food service industry;
  • Must have the physical ability to perform required kitchen duties as assigned, including standing for long periods of time, lifting (which may include up to 50 lbs.), bending and, on occasion, working in rooms with cool temperatures (below 40° F);
  • Must be able to attend classes Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for 14 weeks.

Applicants must submit the following in order to be considered for the Program.

  • Completed and signed application;
  • Copy of diploma, GED certificate, or official transcripts from the highest level of education completed;
  • Copy of a valid Florida driver’s license, state of Florida or government issued photo ID.

Once your application is received, we will:

  • Review your application;
  • Accept, wait-list, hold, or decline your application and notify you within 14 days of receipt.
