Everybody needs a little help sometimes.
Bobbi has always been a helping hand to her neighbors as they recover from car accidents or heal after a stroke. As a private nursing assistant, she is a friendly face when they need her the most. She never thought she would be on the receiving end of someone else’s kindness.
"I'm barely making it," Bobbi says. During the pandemic she was unable to provide in-home patient care and started offering house cleaning services, but the side business is inconsistent. Some months she falls behind on her bills.
One day she scrolled through social media between house cleaning jobs and came across a flyer for free food. Bobbi hopped in her car and drove to the nearby church parking lot. Volunteers loaded bags of groceries into her car, including meat, produce, beans, juice, nuts, dried fruit, and canned tomatoes.
Bobbi was grateful for the help she received.
"I just want to say thank you. My cabinets are full now and I'm making split pea soup for dinner."
