Stories of Hope & Courage– Georgia's Story

Georgia

Georgia is happily back to work, even if it is just two days a week. The pandemic took a toll on her savings. She lost her apartment, sold her car, and moved in with a friend.

"If it weren't for this food pantry and these volunteers, I don't know if I'd be here today," she said as she waited outside a church in Sanford. The food pantry is one of Second Harvest's feeding partners that can be found in hundreds of neighborhoods across Central Florida.

Thanks to a caring community of donors, volunteers and supporters like you, Georgia walks home with all the essentials: beans, rice, eggs, meat, and fresh produce. The weight of the world is a little lighter, even with a heavy bag of groceries.

Your generosity has provided neighbors like Georgia with food and peace of mind as they work to stabilize their lives.

"You are a godsend," said Georgia. "Thank you for putting food on my table tonight."
