All kids under the age of 18 are able to receive free, nutritious meals like breakfast, lunch and snacks through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The program reaches children in areas where they are unable to access meals at school during the summer.
More than 60% of Central Florida kids qualify for free or reduced lunch, only about 9% of those kids participate in a summer meal program. That is too many kids at risk of being hungry and not having the adequate nutrition they need.
We supply healthy, wholesome meals to our summer sites through our Contracted Meals program. Deliveries are made daily to day cares, summer camps, libraries and other places children gather. Our state of the art trailers allow us to serve hot meals.
In addition, mobile units deliver meals to kids that live in mobile home communities and apartment complexes similar to a food truck. This helps meet the need of kids who are unable to attend summer camps or other programs. The mobile unit reach children that are often left home to take care of themselves or younger siblings and don't have access to a summer meal site.
