How to Organize a Food and Fund Drive
Second Harvest collects more than one million pounds of food and thousands of dollars each year through community food and fund drives sponsored by individuals, corporations, clubs, schools and associations.
Two Types of Food Drives
- Regular Food Drive: Collect non-perishable food donations and monetary donations at your work, church or in your neighborhood.
- Virtual Food Drive: For every $10 donated we can provide 40 meals for our neighbors facing hunger. Set up a Virtual Food Drive >>
We're excited to give you the option to organize a regular food drive, a virtual food drive, or both! Regardless of which method you choose, these drives make an incredible difference for struggling families across Central Florida. Make sure to read through our frequently asked questions list below.

2. Where can I drop off my donations?
Location one: Donations can be dropped off at our main facility located at 411 Mercy Drive Orlando, FL 32805 typically Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am - 3pm. (Closed between 12pm-1pm)
Please come to the main entrance on Mercy Dr.
You can also call our main line at 407-295-1066 when you arrive on site for further instructions.
Location two:
Volusia County. To coordinate a food drive for our Volusia Branch, please contact them directly at 386-257-4499. Donations can be dropped off at 320 North Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
Location three:
Brevard County. To coordinate a food drive for our Brevard Branch, please contact them directly at 321-733-1600. Donations can be dropped off at 3125 Skyway Circle, Melbourne, FL 32934.
Location four:
Marion County. To coordinate a food drive for our Marion Branch, please contact them directly at 352-732-5500. Donations can be dropped off at 4045 NE 36th Ave., Ocala, FL 34478, typically Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am - 3pm.
We strongly advise you to call us before coming to drop off to make absolutely certain someone is on duty to receive your donation. Please do not leave food donations outside the door —there is a 100% chance they will be stolen before we can receive them. Please contact our main office at 407-295-1066 to confirm that we will be open.
3. Can Second Harvest pick up my donation?
Our resources continue to be utilized at mobile distributions and we are limiting food drive pickups at this time. We greatly appreciate the donations being brought to us when possible.
In order to schedule one of our trucks, a minimum of 10 boxes must be collected and
it needs to be scheduled in advance. Thank you for your understanding.
