The award-winning restaurant 1921 by Norman Van Aken in Mount Dora is a celebration of modern Florida cuisine and eclectic artisans all fused with respect for traditional craftsmanship, community and the region’s culinary diversity. The restaurant was created as a partner to the adjacent Modernism Museum setting the stage for a distinctive destination that nourishes the spirit and soul.
“Before the celebrity chef craze… before the start of Food Network, Norman Van Aken was starting a revolution. He was doing something unheard of at the time, taking local ethnic flavors, merging them together at restaurants where he worked.” --- The Smith-sonian
